CAMP URSA MINOR 2021
Welcome to Camp Ursa Minor!
At this virtual summer camp, participants developed robotics, coding, and leadership skills. Participants learned all about FIRST® and the organization’s values, and were challenged to solve problems and troubleshoot. Nothing beats learning new skills and having fun at the same time!
This opportunity is available to students from grades 5 to 9 who live in low income communities around Toronto such as Regent Park, South Parkdale, and Oakridge.
Each session consisted of 1 hour per weekday and ran from July to August. Our STEM camp curriculum focused on coding with FTC simulation on PixelPad and electric circuits on TinkerCAD. Our camp also focuses on building initiative and creating a space for social interactions during a time of social isolation during the pandemic.
